The Intentional Leadership Newsletter
Welcome to the Intentional Leadership Newsletter!
My name is Peter Sorgenfrei.
I coach Founders & CEOs on how to become the best versions of themselves in the workplace and at home.
And over the past 2 years, I’ve been fortunate enough to coach dozens of high-performing business leaders.
But you might be asking 2 questions:
What makes you qualified to coach some of the highest performers in the world?
How did you start doing this?
In today’s edition…
I’ll be answering both of these questions for you.
And I’ll be showing you the true intentions of this newsletter!
But first, let me tell you a quick story:
In 2019, I was not in a good place, personally and professionally.
I was sidelined for six weeks, tried to work, couldn't, and then sidelined for another six weeks, after which my board fired me.
Eventually, in February 2019, my body said stop, and I suffered a stress-related breakdown of my cognitive abilities.
But for some reason…
I was relieved.
I had been going super hard for 20 years and needed a break. My body saw to it that I got it.
But it was tough.
My brain wasn't working; I wasn't working, so who was I then?
I have always been a professional person first and then a private person. Now I had to figure out who I wanted to be.
I started focusing on mental and physical health first. I put myself first for the first time in my adult life. I learned what makes me happy and started doing more of that.
Eventually, I needed to make a living….
I could either start a company as I had done before or create something simple I had missed coming through the ranks.
I decided on the latter and wrote to 40 founders/CEOs who didn't know me around the world to ask them if the concept I had in mind existed in their market.
The concept was a new kind of very personal and intimate advisor with whom you could confide professionally and personally.
Someone with experience but without an agenda like you might encounter from a board member, investor, co-founder, or partner.
People returned my note saying:
“Have not seen that before; sounds impressive; how much is it, and how do we get started?”
A few months later, I got a random message from a famous founder who asked if I could help him.
He became my first client, and here we are almost two years later.
So you might be asking…
Why would CEOs who are already at the top need more help?
To put it as simple as possible…
Being a leader is mentally, emotionally, and physically challenging.
And one of the biggest mistakes I made during my time as the CEO of a few companies was I completely neglected my mental, emotional, and physical health.
This led directly to me completely burning out.
And not just in the workplace…
But at home as well.
My goal is to make sure other high-performing business leaders don’t make the same mistakes I did.
That’s why I’ve created the Intentional Leadership Newsletter…
To help people like you maximize your leadership capabilities not just in the workplace…
But in every single area of your life.
So you can truly become the best version of yourself.
Stay tuned for more emails & content from my end.
My goal is to help you grow into the Leader you’ve always wanted to become, at work and at home.
I can’t wait to see the impact we can make together.
That’s all for today!
See you next week for Edition #2 of the Intentional Leadership Newsletter.
Until next time,
Peter

"Leadership is a way of thinking, a way of acting and, most importantly, a way of communicating."
